Join Us In Forming a FireWise Community

Please consider joining us for an informative community meeting for the formation of a Summit Watershed FireWise Community. We have a role to play in protecting ourselves and each other from the risk of wildfire.
The Santa Clara County Fire Safe Council will be present an overview of the FireWise USA program via Zoom or in-person. The meeting will focus on organizing our own FireWise community site, creating a steering committee, and discussing all of the steps necessary to gain recognition as a FireWise community.
When: Saturday, May 6th from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. (outdoors)
Where: 23558 Skyview Terrace (John & Renata Harbison)

WHAT IS FIREWISE USA®?
FireWise teaches homeowners practical techniques to reduce the risks of home destruction by wildfire. The NFPA FireWise USA® recognition program helps residents learn about wildfires and how they can make their homes and neighborhoods safer. Based on fire science, the program teaches how to prepare homes to withstand embers and prevent flames and surface fire from igniting homes and immediate surroundings. Other benefits include insurance discounts/availability, state, and local fire safety funding,& grants, and other programs.
